Week 1 Update

What an amazing week we’ve had in Ash class! In writing this week, we have been working hard to write our letters to Mr. Hales and Mrs. Tonks asking them for some new objects for the outdoor area. We learnt the features of a letter and then used these in our own writing. In maths, we have been reviewing our knowledge of fractions. We have learnt to find a half of a shape and a number. We were all very excited about our Geography lesson this week because we were learning all about Gloucester. As a class, we looked at the different features of Gloucester. Then, we worked with our partners to create a poster about what we had learnt. We cannot wait to share more of our learning with you!

Week 2 Update

In Ash, we have been continuing our fraction work and have been working hard to find a quarter of a number. In English we are starting our new book ‘The Secret Sky Garden’ so today we worked in groups to look at some of the illustrations and discuss what we could see. We have been working hard in music to follow the rhythm and beat of a song. This week we practised using drums with our partners. We created a lot of noise! Miss Aston was very impressed with how hard we all worked during our assessments last week. Well done Ash class!

Week 3 Update

Wow! What another busy week we’ve had in Ash class. This week we had Willow come to visit. He loved playing with us outside and helping us with our handwriting. In DT this week, we have been practising our sewing skills to make our bunting. We showed great determination and our adults were very impressed with our skills. On Friday, we had the author Andy Seed visit our class. We loved learning about his books and guessing the clawed animals. We all joined in with a poem about cats and asked him lots of great questions about being an author!

Week 4 Update

We have had another busy and tiring week in Ash. We all thoroughly enjoyed sports day and had fun cheering on our friends. We have been working hard to write our stories this week in English. In maths, we have been reviewing our knowledge of different types of turns. We loved using paper plates to help us! We have had a great year in Ash class and cannot wait to have a relaxing summer!
